On October 28th , 2020, AJO’s Program Team visited the Justice Directorate of Herat province. The purpose of this visit was to monitor the activities and cases of the Legal Aid Providers in Herat provinces based on the monitoring plan developed by ADALAT/AJO in coordination with Legal Aid Directorate of Ministry of Justice. The program team, first of all met with the Director of Justice and updated him about ADALAT project and the relevant activities as well as the monitoring plan of the legal aid providers. The Justice Director of Herat province apprciated AJO’s support and activities and assured of his full support for the ongoing activities.
During this visit, the program team held a meeting with the legal aid providers and randomly picked cases represented by them to review and discuss. Following reviewing and discussing the cases, the program team provided feedback and recommendations concering case registration and case files as well as provided them with technical advise on writing format and legal writing.
The team also met with Head of the Legal Aid Sub-Directorate of the province and discussed the activities and cases of the legal aid providers.
