Coordination & Follow up Committee Session on Usurpation of Governmental & Public Properties Conducted

The Coordination and Follow up Committee on usurpation of governmental and public properties conducted its meeting under the Rule of Law Committee chaired by the 2nd Vice President, VP Danish. The Committee meeting agenda also included draft policy of usurpation of governmental and public properties, draft regulation of extraditing public and governmental usurped properties, and draft guideline on defending public properties for discussion.

VP Danish, listened to the participants of the meeting who presented their relevant documents/drafts. He later provided necessary directions and instructions to the members of the committee and particularly emphasized on the importance of documents related to usurpation of governmental and public properties. He mentioned that preventing or following up the matters of usurpation of governmental and public properties without having these documents is hard or the government.

In the meeting, the Deputy Minister/Administration/MoJ presented the draft guideline on defending public properties to the committee members for further discussion and approval. Members of the committee appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Justice to develop and draft the guideline on defending public properties as a positive and important step. Yet, it was decided that since the Supreme Court, Ministry of Urban Development and Lands, and the Attorney General Office have shared responsibilities in terms of defending public properties, therefore, they should review and send their suggestions concerning this guideline in written to the Ministry of Justice in a period of one week effective the meeting date.

The MoJ will accordingly incorporate the comments and suggestions and present the guideline for approval. It was also mentioned in the meeting that if the relevant mentioned institutions do not provide feedback, the committee will consider the guideline final and approve it.
